Many people find it hard to relate to Christians because they make it seem as if happiness is a prerequisite to belief.

If happiness is a prerequisite to belief in God then the cross makes no sense.

The cross of Christ represents agony, it betrays the belief that christianity is a cop out, it shows the most amount of courage displayed by any of the religions of the world.

They came to an area called Gethsemane. Jesus told his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He took Peter, James, and John with him. He plunged into a sinkhole of dreadful agony. He told them, “I feel bad enough right now to die. Stay here and keep vigil with me.” Going a little ahead, he fell to the ground and prayed for a way out: “Papa, Father, you can-can’t you?-get me out of this. Take this cup away from me. But please, not what I want-what do you want?” (Mark 14:32-36 MSG)

Whenever you believe that Christ doesn’t understand, whenever you think that Christianity is for the weak, take time to read the story of Easter in depth and I believe you will be proved wrong.

Christ’s walk was full of courage and that courage enables and encourages us to live beyond our own pain.

Whatever we find hard to understand in our everyday, Christ has already been there…
