Nine counts of silence

Place: home

Poison: Malaysian chocolates

Favourite things: my new Christmas mug!

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me nine counts of silence, eight opportunities of trust, seven transformed lives, six dazzling light displays, five thrills of hope, four life traditions, three doses of patience, two random acts of kindness and a place to express my creativity.

Today is my first day of nearly holidays (I’m working on Christmas eve for a few hours! But I don’t really count church as working…)

I am needed to remain close by, because we have contractors doing our bathroom, but wanting some peace and quiet so I have been accross the road at the beach.

Ahhh, peace.

Ahhh, quiet.

Is that really possible 3 days before Christmas?

Yes I believe it is. Take the words from silent night and find a place to reflect and rest.

Silent night; when everyone is asleep or resting, walk outside and look up.

Holy night; take a breathe and count 9 things you are grateful for.

All is calm; another deep breath.

All is quiet; there are moments of silence, we just need to be ready to surrender to them.

Round yon virgin mother and child; think about what it would have been like to be the mother of a world changer. (In fact maybe you are?)

Holy infant so tender and mild; reflect on the innocence of children.

Sleep in heavenly peace; how much do we all long for this? It is available to all of us, however we just need to learn to quiet ourselves more and embrace the silence.

Silent night

Ahhh
