be our guest.

Place:Masters class

Poison: Mandarin

Favorite Things: Blue horse necklace

I am more than excited. I have friends arriving from all over Australia ready for Tim and Beks wedding on thursday.

Being able to find places for people to sleep, chucking out stuff from my room to create a clean slate, arranging dinner parties, finishing off birthday presents, is all the good stuff that creates the pleasure and pain of guests coming to stay.

I found the most fabulous book last week at my local library and its called ‘Occasions’ by Kate Spade. The book is a series of three.

There were fantastic suggestions and opportunities described in this book to make occasions less painful.

Suggestions such as;

Flowers create atmosphere no matter what type.

A simple fresh towel, with a soap, creates a welcoming environment.

A warm and hearty bowl of soup on New Year’s Day.

A Christmas tree decked with vintage holiday ornaments hand-picked from flea markets or your favorite antique stores.

Sometimes its just a little thing, that excites and changes your expectations of be my guest!

Masters….ahhh

Place: the classroom

Poison: Water

Favourite Things: New skirt I made last night. (winter fashion, Im ready!)

I am sitting in my first class of my masters course in leadership. Quite interested, but also the thought of essays, assignments and marking scares the life out of me.

Its been at least 5 years since I have studied in this type of context, and I am easily distracted by the urgent, the tasks of the day, contrasted with the future and learning that I have the opportunity to learn and grow as a leader.

How easy is it, for all of us to be overhwelmed by the now, and forget about the future.

I can honestly say in my early 20’s I was very vision and goal orientated. As I striked my list off, and I moved towards my quarter century, I started to change in my drive towards the future.

I am excited about thinking bigger about the future, learning about leadership and being inspired by people who are so much further down the leadership track than myself.

Ahhhhh

seachange

Place: My mums

Poison: Apple Juice

Favourite Things: Sunsets cafe on the beach front.

I have been cruising the rocky sunset strip with my granma for the last couple of days. There is nothing like a seachange to bring about some love!

I have loved being with family and friends walking the beach, watching our friends race their yaught andjust simply being.

I need to find more space to do this. It doesnt take much. Just a drive, pack some clothes and just go.

Want to do it more? so do I…

Sea change…

Important for all
