reality and destiny the tension

Place: My Office

Poison: Diet Coke
Favourite Things: Saturday’s

Talking with a friend this morning about life, purpose and destiny, I was struck by the thought that ‘the tension between the now and the future is more the point than the finish line!’

We are stretched, frustrated, pulled, pushed, dissapointed, cajoled more than we are successful, liberated, ecstatic or delighted.

I think the reason is ‘We need to develop endurance, perserverence and character to be able to handle our futures.’

I see the glass half full, and with that perspective I totally believe that every person is destined for greatness. However how we handle that greatness, the fame, fortune, favour, whatever it is for the individual, is how we responded to the journey that it took to get there.

If you are frustrated with your day to day reality, look up and search for something beyond, because the tension betwen reality and destiny, is the true substance of things hoped for!

GOLD!

Poison: Diet Coke

Favourite Things: My love package from Kymmie Rolle from her world trip!

I found a website today from someone who I have a connection with from capture and this is a quote that I found on this website which totally sums up my thoughts at the moment…

Karen Beacon : Behind all creation is silence. Silence is the essential condition, the vital ingredient for all creation and all that is created. It is a power in its own right. The artist starts with a blank canvas-silence. The composer places it between and behind the notes. The very ground of your being, out of which comes all your thoughts, is silence. The way to silence is through meditation. When you arrive in your own silence, you will know true freedom and real power. Stop, take a minute, and listen to the silence within you today. Then be aware of what disturbs you inner silence. It could be negative thought, memories or sensations. And when you are aware, you will know what is draining your creative power, and you will know what needs to change….on the inside.
Nice.

NOISE

Place: My Office

Poison:Water

Favourite Things:Jane Austen

Noise, noise, noise! Surrounded by so much noise. My lack of Blogging lately has been due to a time of just taking life a little bit easier and allowing the urgent not to become the important and allowing my speed of life to lessen slightly.

We had a chat with a group of friends last night about the ability to still ourselves and turn off the bombardment of noise that surrounds our everyday.

Words, music, life, love, visual media- NOISE, NOISE, NOISE. Our world is so noisy and so bold, brash and confronting.

I am wanting to soften the noise level of my life and spend more couch time. Not letting myself out of the race that I am purposed to run, but just shifting the gear into 5 for a while and allowing the couch to minister to me!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

anzac lovin

Place: Melbourne

Poison: Water

Favourite Things: Wasabi peas

Today we spent the day on the streets of metro melbourne and the anzac day parade honestly brought tears to my eyes. We have no idea the sacrifice that the generation of my grandma and granpa made as they fought for the freedom that we enjoy today.

May I never take for granted the freedom that we so gloriously enjoy.

leadership summit

Place: Qantas Club

Poison: White Chardonney

Favourite Things: $10 shoes…

I have spent the last couple of days with Event Managers, Producers and Tech Directors of the Global Leadership Summit. It has been really inspiring.

For some reason I have been more homesick than normal and am hanging to be in beautiful Perth, some time very soon. The inspiration of a group of people who think beyond themselves and live to create events that inspire others is a constant form of inspiration for me.

Leadership is all about living a life of influence, and unfortunately today it is the leaders who are the loudest who are often noticed. To watch and meet mothers, brothers, sisters and lovers who lay down their lives for something bigger than themselves and their own pursuits is so breathtaking.

Everyday life is was shapes leaders, not the upfront opportunities to shine. So here’s a toast to a group of 30 people, who have the potential to shape 5,000 lives.

Go hard or Go home, Live large!

All my love
