Change

Place: church

Poison: water

Favorite things: lip gloss

Change often unsettles us, change often discomforts us, change often confuses us.

How we respond to change, I believe sets us up for the potential in the new season that awakens.

My heart is so hungry for truth and my heart is so awakened to potential, my heart is paining to let go of what was…

Every generation will hand over to another generation. The question is will we hand it over gracefully? Or will we complicate the transition with our own selfish pride…

Longing to transition well.

Memorize me!

Place: home

Poison: ginger beer

Favorite things: my new nursing chair

There is a line in a song I have been listening to recently quite a lot finishes with this one line ‘You memorize me’…

The line is no where else in the song, it’s a statement that rings loud and true.

It’s in reference to God. The song is all about God and the knowledge of him.

One thing we humans wish we could emanate of God is a 100% faultless memory.

Aside from a very select few, and even their memories are not completely faultless…no one can completely memorize another.

Yet this song proclaims that God memorizes us. He knows everything about us, he knows every part of us, he knows our beginning and our end, he knows our today and our tomorrow…

I love that thought, when times are tough, when life is confusing, that there is someone who can be known, but more impacting than this, he knows everything about us.

You memorize me.

That helps me take comfort.

The art of doing nothing

Place: home

Poison: icecream

Favorite things: family

As painful as it is to slow down my pace in preparation for baby v, it’s also an amazing opportunity to savor moments and life.

I found this website.

http://www.donothingfor2minutes.com/

Our world is not adept at encouraging us to do nothing…with our iPhones, iPads, interconnectness through our viral opportunities; Facebook, pinterest, twitter, tumblr…need I go on…

Tonight I want to encourage you in the art of doing nothing and regenerate your life, breath in, breath out, let go, immerse in the new…

Just take two minutes.

I just did

Grey

Place: my lounge

Poison: grapes

Favorite things: angora wool

The sky has been grey all day, allowing a dribble of rain to soak the earth slowly for its entirety.

I crocheted with some grey wool, whilst watching greys anatomy.

It’s a grey sort of day.

Somedays are just grey and it’s good to just surrender to its somber hues.

I think if we don’t admit to ourselves the color of the day, it will resurface in new ways.

The skill is not to stay in this place of questioning and deep thought.

Hoping for some blue skies to appear tomorrow and to allow fresh white clouds to wash across my landscape bringing a new sense of peace and hope in the future.

For tonight however I’m okay with the grey…

Crocheting therapy

Place: home

Poison: sultana’s

Favorite things: Mika moo

Today was a big day. One of beginnings, one of endings.

So I came home and crocheted. I crocheted so much, it made me sweat.

Sweating and crocheting doesn’t seem to go together but it became my therapy.

What’s your therapy?

Today mine was making a beanie after work and before dinner. Angora wool, grey and stylin.

Afterwards I felt so much better.

Thanks to some wool and a needle and the lost art of crocheting.

Feel so much better.
