Hope

It’s amazing how a little bit of space, a little bit of quiet, a little bit of thankfulness creates a landscape of hope to arise.

I have taken the day to retreat.

My son is with my husband, I left the washing in the machine, dishes on the sink and I am taking time to reflect, rest and be thankful.

In the US today is thanksgiving. I think the main component of thankfulness is reminding ourselves with perspective.

Do you feel hopeless?

Take time to reflect on all that you are grateful for.

Hope will arise.

Are you feeling confused and disappointed?

Take time to reflect on why and take steps towards letting go.

Small steps.

Like asking for wisdom. Like releasing people from indebtedness. Like believing the best rather than the worst.

Hope will arise.

Shake off those thoughts that ensnare and find a place of reflection on that which is good in your world.

Be thankful.

Acknowledge your blessings.

Hope will come.

No season lasts forever. Summer is always on its way. It just is. Even in the darkness of winter, summer potential lays dormant in the snow.

Hope is awaiting dear friend.

Courage

Somedays it take courage to just be yourself.

Not try to be someone else, not try to impress people and not worry about what people think.

I need courage to do that.

To stop worrying about what people think and to just be myself!

Do you struggle to be yourself?

Do you question if you are good enough?

Do you worry about what other people think every time you try something new?

Be courageous!

Live beyond your limits.

Courage is contagious.

Try

Sometimes you just need to try something new.

Today I did just that!

I recorded a program for radio, I was shaking a little, I tried something for the first time.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Life is for living.

It’s not for the perfect, it’s not for those who strive, I believe it’s for those who try.

Just have a go.

You never know what you will pull off?

You might surprise yourself…

Kindness

I spent my weekend in the midst of a crazy Neighbour drama and in the aftermath of it, I feel a little tender.

The saga involved a group of leavers, lots of partying, broken property (of mine) and some confrontations.

Today as I drove to spend the day with friends I realised something that would have changed the situation a little.

Kindness.

I was in my rights to bust these school leavers, but in reflection I was just as bad if not worse.

I could have sat with them and listened, taken some food over an checked up on their health, however in the heat of the moment I gave them a piece of my mind.

They broke my favourite chair, that I sit out and watch the ocean with. The chair had sentimental value as it was the first thing I bought when I shifted into my beach shack. Lovingly painted and was worn with love.

They didn’t mean to break it though.

Today I feel a little quiet because I feel I could have handled the situation a little better.

Creative kindness is one of my trademarks.

I think kindness smooths over many a sore.

Try a little kindness next time.

I’m speaking to myself.

Even though they are punks who should have treated me and my belongings with more respect, I could have been kinder in my response.

Hmmm.

Go

You know that thing you’ve put off go do it!

Go

Get up and do it.

Now.

I’m at the gym at 7am on a Sunday morning. Not my favourite place to be, I’m thinking the snuggle of my doona, son and husband would be more comforting.

The thing is, nothing much was achieved under the doona (except maybe my sons conception!).

Sometimes we just need a little kick up the butt to go!

You wanna travel to a place you’ve never been before?

Ready
Set
Go

What is it that you’ve been putting off?

A conversation, a spring clean, chucking out some old letters/memories, clean out the car, read your bible, write that letter, file that tax…

Go on

Go!
