Dwellingup and homemade icecream

Place: in car

Poison: honey and macadamia homemade icecream

Favourite things: Mariah, tayla, Charlie, Jen and belinda

Today the girls disappeared into the forrest to run away and gather coffee for the sanity of the campsite.

Whilst the whole male population watched the grand final, us girls ate ice cream and drunk hot chocolate and flat whites…

Home made icecream is to die for. The little old lady in the tearoom was a delight, she got out her antiques compendium to find me the rarest green tea cups in the world right now.

Delightful.

Run away with your loved ones and sit in the glow of their company.

It turns an ordinary day into a life long memory.

The day the girls ran away to have coffee and homemade icecream.

Yum!

Camping and long weekends

Place: bed

Poison: toothpaste

Favourite things: the royal show next week.

Hot off the heels of a big event week, I am still trying to decide whether I should go camping with my family this long weekend or not. I know once I get there I will be so into it, yet the pain of packing, driving, the dirt and the like is always a little annoying.

Yet the organic echo of the bush is so rewarding.

Why do we settle when these little adventures are fabric in the quilt of our children’s memories?

My nieces and nephews are absolutely buzzing about aunty manda coming camping, yet I am all inspired out.

Talking to myself here “it’s a choice amanda, to choose a little pain for great reward.”

What is it that you are putting off?Regarding your family that will make such a difference in the lives of your most loved. A trip to the museum, the library, camping, booking time off for a family holiday, that family portrait gift certificate that sits unredeemed.

The pain is only ever short lived but brings opportunity for great reward!!!

I think I have just made the decision if I’m going camping this long weekend…

Relieved

MAMMA MIA! a guide to reinvention

Place: My Office

Poison: Long Black

Favourite Things: our team…

Well last nights hertime occasion was outstanding. The collective effort of so many women to put on something so breathtaking was an accomplishment.

From the 70’s table cloths embroidered by nameless women accross the ages, that found themselves in random op shops for me to snavel, to the 70’s inspired abba outfits. To the strong presentation of life, love and loss from the speakers, to the little old ladies serving the il gelato icecream desserts.

I love my church! I love my job (even when it hurts!) because I love the expression of individuality that comes together to express sisterhood and life lived in community.

Find a woman you love, find a hand to hold, grab some icecream and bring out the tea cups and your grannies best linen and celebrate being a woman.

Its liberating

The garden herbs

Place: the lounge room

Poison: baileys

Favourite things: pjs

I have been working on a herb garden for months and spring has sprung with a lift of life to my herbs.

Basil, parsley, dill, coriander, rocket, thyme and more, totally change the enjoyment levels of my cooking. I made a risotto with fresh parsley and thyme.

Walking around the deck this evening with the sun going down, watering can in hand, underscores the epitome of spring.

Now is the perfect time to plant some new herbs for summer salads. I planted rocket seeds a couple of weeks ago and I’m nearly ready for salad.

Tonight I had rocket, asparagus and strawberry with balsamic vinegar dressing.

Amazing!

Baths and friends

Place: the couch

Poison: vietnamese

Favourite Things: bath

I am in love with my new bath and my friends. Separately of course. Tonight a group of friends did the message at church tonight, it was so much fun! They are the most beautiful people and so authentic. At the same time my flat mate is in the bath talking to their partner! Yep! Crack me up!

My other flatmate is obsessed with swigdying the shower screen. Where have I landed?

Baths and friends don’t normally go together, but so seven year old, innocent and fun.

Sometimes we take life way too seriously. Bubble bath it up, put a rubber ducky on ice. Llife is worthy of some bath salt, served with a candle on the side

Ahhhh
