Curious

Sometimes we just become plain boring because we lose our sense of curious.

How curious are you?

When you drive home each day do you look for changes?

Do you notice when someone’s hair changes?

Do you see the changing of the guard of flowers in your neighbors yard as the season changes?

Do you click on that website to read and discover more?

Do you walk the aisles of your local library excited with the potential?

Curiosity?

The future belongs to the curious.

Step into that art gallery, make that phone call, smile at that stranger.

Live a curious life.

You will never say you’re bored again!

Release

In this season of novice motherhood, letting go has been a major theme.

The one word that could change the shape of our everyday is;

release.

Often we can hold so tight onto what was, that we cannot grip onto what could be?

What have you not let go of? What is stopping you from experiencing the new?

I am a passionate person and so I often feel very deeply about things. I also find it difficult to let go when the season has passed.

There is a part of my life that I have had to let go of and I have found it so difficult because I love it dearly.

However the season is over, my level of influence in it has passed and there is nothing I can do to change it.

I need to release it and the people involved. Not with bitterness, not with unforgiveness, I need to let go with grace.

That is what release is.

It’s like we’re holding a helium balloon outside that is moving in the wind, we try to control it, but it was never designed to be controlled, held tight or manipulated. It is set free when we release it.

If people don’t respect your values or hold you in high esteem, it’s okay release them. If an organization doesn’t treat you with respect or value your input it’s okay release it.

Life is too hard to try control others opinions or value of you.

We do need to let go sometimes.

Sometimes we need to release those things that hold us captive and make us heavy hearted.

Release.

Let it go.

Forgive

Free yourself.

inbetween

So today is day 31, with a new month starting tomorrow. I had an amazing conversation with a wise lady in church last week and she said something that stuck with me.

She said I read your blog everyday Amanda, be encouraged there are many people who never comment, you wouldnt even know they are checking in but for me somedays it is even just one word that makes my day a little different.

So my 30 day challenge is a simple one.

Every day one word that inspires, encourages or challenges me.

Just one word can make a huge difference.

One word like

Yes-

yes to a date, yes to a opportunity, yes to a challenge, yes to something you might have previously said no to, yes to a proposal, yes to a friend, yes to someone who asks something unusual, yes.

What should you say yes to today, that often the answer has been no.

Its often your yes that will take you out of a place of inbetween.

Feeling dislocated? displaced? dissuaded?

Say yes

Maybe…

Reflect, decide, celebrate

Heart. Home. Health

Reflect- take time to reflect on what has happened over the last 30 days. What went well? What didn’t? What were you frustrated by? What did you sabotage yourself with? What made you lazy?

Decide- decide what you want to keep on working on? Heart? Home? Health?

Celebrate- celebrate with the ones you love. Celebrate the victories, let go of te failures. Be thankful for the little things, enjoy the season. Be grateful. Don’t bombard yourself with guilt for that which went wrong, encourage yourself for having a go.

I think you are amazing!

Fresh air

Health

Today I drove out of the city to sit in the Forrest with my extended family who are camping.

Max and I are still unwell, so camping was out of the question but a dose of fresh air was absolutely what the doctor ordered.

Sometimes we are just to locked up in our own little worlds and houses and we all need a dash of the country.

There is something so wild about fresh air, it unlocks caverns of unfound inspiration.

Driving with the windows open, allow the Forrest air to refresh brings a dose of perspective and health to us all.

Are you feeling worn out and tired?

Drive away from the city and a sit in a Forrest.

Hippy much?

No, but today refreshed parts of my soul that I was unaware needed refreshing.

Just drive.

Pack a picnic.

Fill a thermos.

And sit

Love

Listen

And inspire.
