All morning I have had on my heart, people who may be just about to give up. So I made a little video for you.
Even if this helps one person, it was worth the effort on this Mother’s day.

Today is a day that I never thought I would be able to celebrate. It was a day with high expectation coupled with fear and trembling.
For some people its no big deal, but for me to commit to something everyday for a whole year is a victory.
As I listen to Auld Lang Syne, and my table is being prepared for a gathering of friends to see 2013 in, I am reminiscent of a big year of change.
Last night as I was journalling, I wrote 2012 Dreams Realised and Dreams Shattered.
It was just one of those years, where I saw the most amazing dreams realised and at the same time I had dreams shattered to pieces. My husband and I had a huge chat this morning and one of the biggest lessons I have learnt is balancing a heart that desires more and dreams deeply, with the reality of the now and unmet expectations.
How do we traverse a broken reality where rarely things work out the way we hope or plan? Yet stay in a place of expectation and hope, dreaming ‘the best is yet to come’.
So here are some of the lessons I have learnt from 366 days of novice motherhood.
I am sure there are many more little pieces of wisdom that have arisen from my daily blogging journey, but they are for processing at a later date.
To those who have supported and encouraged me through this journey, I want to say thank you. It is the true measure of a great friend, one who encourages and supports another’s dreams.
To those who have popped in and out all year and have contributed through comments, emails and hugs. Thank you.
To my husband, who has patiently sat waiting as I just wrote one more word and encouraged me endlessly to live beyond. You are everything I could have ever hoped for.
I have been reading and studying a book from Scripture this year, called the book of Job. It is about a man who lost everything yet still never gave up hope. My favourite scripture this year has been.
Job 7:10 ‘ At least I can take comfort in this; despite the pain I have not denied the words of the Holy One.’
No matter what life throws at you dear friend, no matter the disappointment, the rejection, the unmet expectations, the fear, don’t deny the very truth of your being.
My hope is found in something far beyond resolutions, dreams or plans. My hope is found in someone, something that designed the whole universe, that created the beginning from the end, that created me. He knows me, He knows the plans He has for me, He is lord.
Thanks for being a part of the journey.
Tomorrow I am launching my second book ‘Capture; 30 days of inspiration, desperate for change’ I hope that it inspires you towards a greater tomorrow.
Happy New Year.
2013, let’s do this!
Sometimes you just have to do it!
I have been procrastinating with the release of my second book ‘Capture:30 days of inspiration II; desperate for change’.
There are many valid reasons why I haven’t done it, like copyrighting, designing, finance…
But.
I decided that no time is ever perfect and the whole reason that I wrote the book was to inspire change, so I decided I would do it anyway.
There is never a right time to decide to change.
Perfect plans will always be full of imperfection.
Sometimes the adventure is just giving it a go anyway.
What have you been putting off?
What have you always wanted to do but been full of excuses?
Sometimes we just need to throw caution into the wind and have a go.
Therefore capture 2 will be available for download everyday of January.
Look out for tomorrow’s post ‘the lessons I have learnt from a whole year of writing.’
See you soon adventurers

Sometimes our friends are the worst enemy to our dreams. Go figure.
It’s our closest friends who often encourage behaviors that inhibit us reaching our goals.
Sometimes our closest friends are the ones who provide the biggest road blocks to change.
Jealousy
Envy
Pride;
All come into play and our friends are sometimes the ones who enable our emotions that stop us from believing that we can step out and make a difference.
If you are thinking right now, wow, yes that’s me, then maybe some new friends are in order for 2013.
I don’t mean you need to have massive emotional break ups that end with ‘I just can’t be your friend anymore…’,
Just simple decisions to distance yourself from toxic friendships that enable your bad habits.
You know, the ones that when you start a diet offer you cake and keep on asking till you cave.
Those ones where you make a decision to stop gossiping about others and they manipulate you into awkward conversations.
Those ones who tell you ‘oh you could never do that’, discouraging you with subtle words, the ones that hold you captive to their control.
They are not friends.
Friends encourage you and inspire you to achieve your goals.
Friends tell you when you are making a decision that is contrary to your beliefs.
Friends have hard conversations yet let go and let you make your own decisions.
Friends sing your dreams back to you when you have forgotten the tune.
True friends.
Many people don’t realize one of the main ways people fail with new years resolutions is because of the enabling that happens around them.
That friend who has had a big fight with her husband, who you let unpack the whole lot on you and you go to rescue her.
That’s enabling.
You need to walk her back home, get them to sit down and do the talking with each other, not you.
That time when you bring out the chocolates when someone is desperately trying to loose weight. Unkind and enabling.
Need I go on?
What areas of your life are you enabling bad behavior in others?
Who is enabling bad decisions in your life?
How can you bring truth to these relationships and recreate a new pattern?
Happy nearly new year.
In two more days, I have blogged every day for a whole year. A huge achievement in my books!

Opportunity awaits.
The opportunity of a new season.
The opportunity of finding yourself.
An opportunity.
‘Out of clutter find simplicity, from discord find harmony, in the middle of difficulty awaits opportunity’ Albert Einstein.
What a profound thought.
We shy away from difficulty, we will do anything to stop ourselves from feeling pain, yet opportunity lies amidst the wreckage.
In some ways my life this year has been dreamlike, in others it has been completely confusing.
I do feel though, that in 2013 opportunity awaits.
I need to refocus on what God wants from me and my little family not what everyone else wants.
How about you?
The one thing I do know, is opportunity awaits us all.
Do you feel stuck?
Do you feel like your life in chaos?
Opportunity awaits.
I’m certain!
