Intrigue

Place: home

Poison: second half of the 600ml coke zero bottle from yesterday

Favorite things: long walks with my sister

Today I had a plan of what my exercise was to be, however intrigue got the better of me.

At family night last night there was a discussion about a big block of land in a great location with a fallen down shack on it, for a great price.

That’s all I needed for some exploration and dreaming.

So instead of walking my 6km plan, google maps was out and a searching my sister and I went.

Both of us have mortgages, both of us are not looking to buy, but intrigue got the better of us.

We walked and walked and walked, till my ankles hurt. Street after street, we talked and chatted, dreamed and counseled, until we found what we were looking for…

We crept around the old shack, which is five minutes from the sea, I dreamed about vegi patches and Max running wild. I looked in the smoky windows and saw the cigarette stained wallpaper peeling off, the old carpet which I wondered whether the floorboards underneath had potential.

Then the most massive shed, built with old shingles that would be a perfect studio, another shed for Charls tool.

This is what intrigue does!

The whole way home, no longer did my sister have a conversation partner I was lost in my own world, suddenly selling the shack we own and becoming a renovator again.

How did this happen?

How did I get lost in this moment of creativity?

It all came from intrigue.

Intrigue rears its cute little face and we can so often ignore it and say no I don’t have time to entertain you.

What might happened if you entertained your healthy intrigue sometime?

What might happen if you went for a walk to check out an opportunity?

My intrigue lead to creative ideas for coffee shops, businesses and design ideas. The flow of ideas unleashed was untamed and amazing.

Allow yourself to entertain intrigue you never know what that impulse might lead you to. A solution, some potential or an idea that could change your life!

Nice

A

Reflection

Place: car

Poison: coke zero vanilla

Favorite things: coke zero vanilla

Today as I sat post-workout waiting for my husband I watched the sun reflect off a simple setting.

As I sat for 10 minutes or so, I quietly reflected on the last 30days.

I have been more intentional through the month of April, to creatively encourage people, to write my blog everyday, to exercise and generally live more intentionally.

I have a little man who has grown from 4 weeks old to 8 weeks old, I have clicked over the one year mark in my marriage, flown on an aero plane with my son for the first time, started my connect group again, camped in a caravan for Easter, baked a crazy birthday cake for my Goddaughter, been to movie world on some crazy roller coasters and so much more…

How much we humans fit into a month. It’s amazing when we are more intentional how we can learn from the everyday moments. The highs, lows and the boring beige in betweens…

Today I have been thinking about what I have learnt this month. And I believe it’s been about living intentionally.

It’s reflecting upon the everyday moments and looking for inspiration in the normal. It is available, we just have to look for it.

Taking time to reflect is a very under valued use of our time in our results based economy. Yet it’s not until months or years later that we reap the rewards of deep reflection.

To allow the everyday to pass, without simple reflection, is easy.

When we take time to locate ourselves and our feelings, take time to search out inspiration and wisdom life takes on a whole nother hue.

Loved sharing inspirational April with you, my focus for may is most defineatly all about my health and loosing some of my baby weight.

Reflect often but live light!

All my love and lots of cups of tea

Unsure

Place: home

Poison: nandos

Favorite things: lazy Sundays

There are a few thoughts rolling around in my head tonight that make me feel unsure.

I don’t feel sad, I am just unsure how I feel.

A little weird I know, but somedays I do feel unsure.

Surety is all about certainty. Certainty is about clarity.

So being unsure is being in a place of uncertainty and feeling unclear.

It’s okay though because sometimes clarity for me, especially in seeking what God is saying about some subjects just takes time.

We can’t click our fingers and expect an answer from God. I believe the whole journey of trust with an unseen, hidden but present God is times when we wait.

Waiting often makes me feel unsure.

Lots of thoughts stirring in me right now, thoughts of letting go, thoughts of forgiveness, thoughts of the future, thoughts of what if?

I believe to find clarity in the midst of thoughts of this nature, it’s okay to have a few days of unsure.

It’s always darkest right before the dawn. Times of uncertainty have the potential to awaken deep revelation.

Unsure but its really okay.

Hope comes in the morning.

Atmosphere

Place: hairdressers

Poison: black licorice

Favorite things: getting my hair done

Some days are just filled with atmosphere. Some days are gloomy, some are sharp, some are hurried, some are lazy.

A day with atmosphere has so much potential.

A day with atmosphere fills the spacious with excitement.

Today is one of those days that has atmosphere. We laid on the couch, read the paper, wrote invitations, had long bottomless cups of coffee, folded washing, stared at our child sleeping…

The clouds merged into the sea today. The water was glassy but not clear it was grey and moody and full of atmosphere.

I believe some of the best creativity can be captured on a moody, atmospheric days.

Autumn produces days like these in spades. Brown leaves falling, sparkling sun through heavy cloud cover, soft gentle waves that melt into the horizon.

Atmosphere.

However, atmosphere in a home can be uninviting, uninspiring and unhelpful.

Although the earth produces atmosphere, so do we in our own homes…

How is your home atmosphere today?

Are you adding to its inspiration or it’s heaviness?

Atmosphere affects us all.

Winter is coming.

We have the choice to change the atmosphere in our own homes.

Much love and lots of cups of tea

Amanda
