Bethany’s story #thecaptureproject

bethany

Meet my friend Beth. She would say we met in a toilet one time, but I noticed her even before we met there. We were at an event, she walked across the foyer and I smiled knowing that we would both change each others lives.

And that we have.

She is one of the most amazing writers I have ever read and I cannot wait to read the next part of her story.

To get her story into a few minutes has not been easy, but this is just the beginning.

Beth, I think you are absolutely stunning. I feel that it is a privilege that you have shared your story with me over many coffees and long walks.

Now others have the benefit of listening to your courage and reading them on your blog

Stay tuned.

This young thing is going to change the world!

All my love

#thecaptureproject

We had an idea.

My husband, a very new friend and I.

It’s simple.

But also a little complicated.

It might work.

It might not.

But were having a go anyway.

Watch this video to find out more.

Why don’t you get involved. Hold up your Iphone/Skype Cam/Andriod something and lets have a go together. Tell us your story. Not where you were born and such. Just tell us what inspires you, tell us something that happened, tell us a secret dream or ambition.

Have a go! Go on. We dare you.

Send you short video vignettes to amanda@amandaviviers.com and she will edit them a little and put them online.

inbetween

So today is day 31, with a new month starting tomorrow. I had an amazing conversation with a wise lady in church last week and she said something that stuck with me.

She said I read your blog everyday Amanda, be encouraged there are many people who never comment, you wouldnt even know they are checking in but for me somedays it is even just one word that makes my day a little different.

So my 30 day challenge is a simple one.

Every day one word that inspires, encourages or challenges me.

Just one word can make a huge difference.

One word like

Yes-

yes to a date, yes to a opportunity, yes to a challenge, yes to something you might have previously said no to, yes to a proposal, yes to a friend, yes to someone who asks something unusual, yes.

What should you say yes to today, that often the answer has been no.

Its often your yes that will take you out of a place of inbetween.

Feeling dislocated? displaced? dissuaded?

Say yes

Maybe…

waiting

Place: My Office

Poison: Pepsi Max

Favorite Things: My Job

As I sit here today in the office arranging last minute communications and strategies, there is a foreboding sense of change. Im normally not that great at change, but the thought of a new family, baby, opportunity is really delightful.

As delightful as the change is, my heart still sits in this place of waiting. An inbetween place, a place of almost frustration.

The waiting place, is never a pleasurable experience. Its an awkward place of confusion, awaiting the opportunity of change.

I long to be in the place of nappies, sleepness nights and snuggles, yet I also want to be in this place of purpose, intentionality and growth.

Truly the growth most happens, in the waiting place.

A waiting place that teaches peace, a waiting place that teaches patience, a waiting place that grows our capacity for the place of fulfilment of promise.

Without the waiting place, maybe the promise could never arise. Without the waiting place, maybe our character couldnt sustain the new, without the waiting place, maybe the victory wouldnt taste as sweet.

The waiting place has purpose.

The waiting place is bouyed by frustration.

Lord, help me to fill my waiting place with trust not worry.

What’s your waiting place?
